Situated to the south of London, Surrey may not be the largest of the home counties in terms of its size – the county only accounts for some 642 square miles – but it is the third biggest by population. A case study for recent move in Surrey

At Olympia Removals, we recently helped a family of five move from South London to Addlestone, a town in Surrey with a population of some 15,000 or so residents. The move was a big deal for the family concerned because they had been living in a three-bedroomed terraced property in the Kennington area for years. Needing more room for their growing three children, the family ended up finding a four-bedroomed detached property close to the town’s railway station. This meant that commuting to London Waterloo was possible with a journey time of well under an hour.

The problem for the family that was moving centred on a lot of specialist equipment that they had. At Olympia Removals, we pride ourselves on moving oversized and tricky items, like works of art and pianos. In this case, we needed to dismantle gym equipment for the customer so it could be brought through their old home from their summerhouse to be loaded up on their behalf. This took care and attention to detail but the whole thing went like clockwork despite some early concerns the client raised with us that proved to be unfounded. When the equipment was unpacked in the new home, everything that was needed to reassemble it was present and correct. All of the components needed to put it back together had been numbered so the gym was up and running again within 24 hours.

Furthermore, the client took the opportunity the move presented to do some decluttering. This primarily involved us helping to sort out the children’s possessions so that items that would be going to the new home were packed up while others were readied for a trip to the nearby charity shops. Indeed, these were the final items to be loaded onto our truck and we were even able to drop them off as the journey south to Surrey was made.

We are pleased to say that our customer recognised that this was going beyond the normal terms of our operations and thanked us for the extra effort. They have since recommended us to their friends and we have been delighted to do some work for their old neighbours in South London. We have also been asked to carry out a relocation job within Addlestone based on their recommendation of us.
